Sarawak PAS Youth (DewanPemuda PAS Sarawak) fully supports the stance as taken by our Spiritual Leader, Tuan Guru Dato’ Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat and PAS’ DewanUlama’ that Israel is not a legitimate state on the basis that the state was established on lands confiscated from both the Muslim and Christian Palestinians in 1948. This effectively makes Israel an occupier and thus, any resistance towards this illegal land-grabbing from the rightful owners of the lands legitimate and worthy of international support.
Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz is never alone in this stand, in fact, similar position was taken by all prominent ulama’ in the Islamic world including the honourable Dr Yusuf Al-Qaradhawi of Egypt and Dr WahbahAz-Zuhaili of Syria. Sarawak PAS Youth has given our full backing to this position since it will never be justified to recognize Israel as it has shed so many innocent blood of both Muslim and Christian Palestinians throughout its occupation of the Holy Land.Furthermore, Israel has shown no remorse of its aggression against the Palestinians and has effectively contradicted various UN resolutions in defiance of the demands of the international community.
Sarawak PAS Youth would like admonish PBB Youth to take BN youth leaders especially its master, UMNO Youth Leader, KhairyJamaluddin to task for having no reservation for Malaysia to freely trade with Israel. Our records have shown that there have been free shipments of goods from Malaysia to Israel under BN administration.It is worth noting here that, Malaysia is Israel’s 15thlargest trade partner based on a report by the EU’s European Commission of Trade, which in effect demonstrates BN’s blatant disregard of the rakyat’s overwhelming sentiment of discontentment against Israel. This is also a vivid evidence of BN’s hypocrisy and political expediency.
It is also very amusing to see PBB Youth Vice-Chief ridiculing himself by speculating about the future of Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz within PAS and Pakatan Rakyat. The honourable Tuan Guru is without doubt a great asset to the coalition and as a matter of fact, he is the Spiritual Guide not only for PAS but for Pakatan Rakyat as a whole. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim may have taken a different perspective to the issue which PAS disagrees, however, it is also very clear that Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim states his opinion on the basis of a two-state solution, a position also taken by the current BN government.
PAS’ firm stand on the Palestinian Cause has never changed and our full support for the liberalization of the Palestinian lands from the illegitimate colonizers has never wavered. For us, the Palestinian struggle is a holy struggle to uphold justice and bring peace to all rightful owners of the Holy Land.
